A Word From Our President
At the Marlborough Chamber, we are passionate about challenging business to improve.
It’s beneficial for the community, the Marlborough economy and individuals, to drive this continuous improvement. Good leadership in business is critical for success, and good leaders need a great team supporting them.
A key focus this year is for the Chamber to be able to provide new training opportunities to up-skill these leaders, and their future potential leaders. We’re working towards this by offering three Express Workshops a month, as well as some new full day Workshops from experts dealing with Health & Safety, Soft Skills for Management, Customer Service (Kiwihost), and Leadership and Business Development. Please reach out to Kathryn if your business can benefit from this training and see if you are eligible for capability funding.
Our other key focus this year is to advocate for the future workforce of Marlborough, with our involvement in the Regional Skills Leadership Group and the Smart + Connected Labour and Skills Group. We also have Chris Shaw who works in the Chamber as our Education to Employment Broker. He engages with the youth, schools and businesses to build a better understanding of careers, business needs and to schools and youth in Marlborough – feel free to give us any feedback you might have in this area, and feel free to reach out to Chris if you want to find out more.
