Covid-19 Alert Level 4 – Marlborough Chamber of Commerce Update
AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM YOUR CHAMBER
Many of you would have heard the announcement from the Prime Minister this evening in regards to the COVID-19 Alert Levels. As at 11.59pm tonight, New Zealand will be moving into Alert Level 4. This will be for an initial period of three days EXCLUDING Auckland & Coromandel which will likely be in Alert Level 4 for seven days.
We know that for many of you this is going to another unsettling time. We encourage you to talk with your staff and have your plans and procedures in place. Let's keep that strong community mindset that is our absolute strength as a region and continue to communicate and source help when you need it.
We want to assure you that as a Chamber we are 100% here to support you, the business community. We will continue to update you via our emails and our dedicated COVID-19 web page with latest news and announcements.
What does Alert Level 4 look like? We have compiled a short overview for you:
What you need to know
People instructed to stay at home in their bubble other than for essential
personal movement.
• Safe recreational activity is allowed in local area.
• Travel is severely limited.
• All gatherings cancelled and all public venues closed.
• Businesses closed except for essential services (e.g. supermarkets, pharmacies, clinics,
petrol stations) and lifeline utilities.
• Educational facilities closed.
• Rationing of supplies and requisitioning of facilities possible.
• Reprioritisation of healthcare services.
Physical distancing
Keep your distance when out and about. This means a minimum of 2 metres between you and other people.
Workplaces and businesses
Businesses must close to the public except for essential services.
Doing business safely
Businesses should maintain hygiene measures, including physical distancing, hand washing and regularly cleaning surfaces.
All businesses are encouraged to use alternative ways of working if possible.
If workers have symptoms of COVID-19, they should stay home.

Masks
You should wear masks when ever leaving the house, especially in supermarkets and other situations where physical distancing may be difficult.
QR Codes
It is essential that every business, school, public agency and facility helps people to keep track of their movements by displaying a QR code. Businesses and organisations can get QR codes at qrform.tracing.covid19.govt.nz.
